After going through a rigorous candidate selection process, Yolande emerged as the Mayoral candidate and is leading a strong team into the election on 3 August.

Yolande is a qualified teacher but soon realised that her passion is the development of other adults.

“I joined the cellular industry right at inception in South Africa and ended up working for Motorola S.A and Ericsson, focusing in Customer Care and Training Management,” said Yolande.

Her passion for people led her to start a NPO which specialises in training and skills development of communities and emerging entrepreneurs.

Yolande became a member of the business chamber and became the first women of colour to become the Tsitsikamma business chamber Chairperson.

“I then became the first woman of colour to become Provincial Chairperson of AHI East Cape.

I joined the DA and applied to become a councillor after countless attempts to engage the local municipality to work with the Tsitsikamma business chamber and other stakeholders, to form meaningful relationships to build economy of Kou Kamma and they refused the help,” added le Roux.

Growing the economy of Kou Kamma and providing jobs for the communities who live in the Municipality is close to Yolande’s heart.

“We have to stop corruption in Kou Kamma and use the money to provide better services to all the residents of the region.

The DA has a proven track record of good governance and I urge all the voters in Kou Kamma to support the DA and vote for change and a better life for all on 3 August,” concluded le Roux.
