Electricity is vital for economic growth and job creation. The DA believes access to reliable sources of power are important for boosting business and delivering much-needed services.
Knowing this, we will lobby for the national government to change the regulatory framework to enable local governments, like Kouga, to generate electricity and become independent power producers.
This will allow us to ensure a stable electricity supply, vital for services such as healthcare and education.
• DA governments make use of innovative solutions and local assets to make sure residents keep connected and keep doing business.
• This includes initiatives like the use of Steenbras power station which reduces the impact of outages and load-shedding on homes and businesses in the DA-run City of Cape Town.
• The Wallacedene taxi rank, also in the City of Cape Town, generates and stores its own electricity through a rooftop solar panel system.
The DA will make sure Kouga is able to provide on-going access to much needed electricity, for economic growth, job creation and basic service delivery.
Make a wise choice on 3 August. Vote DA for a better life for all the residents of Kouga.
