The DA condemns the vandalism that was witnessed yesterday and last night at the University of Fort Hare (UFH).

This violence will not help those students who are facing a legitimate funding crisis.

This will only make the situation worse, and take even more funds away from the University – as they repair the damage.

The ANC government’s inaction to address this long-standing crisis at the University again shows that they do not care about poor students.

Just last week, they also voted against a DA amendment in Parliament that would have provided additional funding for 205,000 poor students.

Its time for change!
