The DA is signalling its intent to win Kouga in the 2016 elections by holding its provincial congress in the town this coming weekend.
The Kouga is the only municipality in the Eastern Cape where the DA received an outright majority of votes in the 2014 National Election.
“We are honoured to host the congress in Jeffreys Bay and it shows the faith that the DA provincial and national leadership have in the voters of Kouga.
We have no doubt that the Kouga will fall to the DA in 2016 – the citizens of Kouga have already spoken,” said Elza Van Lingen, the leader of the DA in the area..
Speakers at the congress will include Helen Zille (National Leader) and Mmusi Maimane (Parliamentary Leader).
The Provincial Congress will serve as a platform from which the DA’s plans for the run-up to the 2016 municipal elections will be laid out.
The DA in the Eastern Cape will also be holding its elections for the provincial leadership of the party.
