Relatively large numbers of voters turned out over the weekend across the Kouga to register to vote, or to simply check if their names are on the voters roll.

The national election will take place on 7 May 2014.

Any voters who missed out on the opportunity to register can visit the IEC office in Humansdorp to register.

They are urged to do this quickly as once President Zuma has proclaimed the date, the voters roll will be closed.

Proclaimation is expected before the end of February.
