It is with shock and disbelief that I learned of the passing on Monday of the life partner of Eastern Cape Premier Noxolo Kiviet.

Premier Kiviet and her partner, Nikuxolo Siqingqi shared a very close relationship.  I want to convey my and my party’s deepest and most sincere condolences at the loss of her life partner and father of her children.

We pray that she will be sustained at this time of grief and mourning by the love of God and of her family, as well as the endearing memories of a life shared with Mr. Siqingqi.

The DA caucus in the legislature is keeping the Premier in our thoughts and prayers.  We especially pray for her to be provided with the strength to give the necessary love and support to her children, who are no doubt devastated by the passing of their father.
