DA excluded from meeting with Provincial Government

The visit by the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature to the Kouga was marred with controversy yesterday when politicians from the Local Government Portfolio Committee refused to allow DA Councillors into their meeting.

This meant that the Committee only heard the ANC’s side of what is happening in Kouga and we can be assured that a true reflection will not be presented to the Eastern Cape Government.

The state of the roads in Kouga was one of the items the DA wanted to bring to the attention of the provincial government.

Councillor Chimpie Cawood led a delegation of DA Councillors that included Danny Benson, Juline Prinsloo, Nico Botha and Brenton Williams but they were told to leave the meeting after Councillor Cawood insisted on the DA being allowed to present their case.

Unfortunately it was to no avail and the DA Councillors were forced to leave the meeting.
